Prosperity? A real relationship? Not the ones where you’re “together” but no real commitment exist. Individuals say why should you put “titles” on relationships. Titles are important. If you don’t own the “title” to your car or home, it can be taken from you at any time. However that is a post for another day. The topic we are discussing is desire.

What is the world‘s view on desire? More than often desire is linked to sex. Sex seems to be the number one desired commodity after money. The common phrase “sex sells” shows how the two them work, exceptionally well. Sex nor money in itself are bad. God created the physical intimacy between husband and wife. God Himself blessed Job twice fold with the riches.

But stepping away from sex and the monetary elusiveness that we use in place of exploring the deeper desire of what is really going on; let’s see what the Word says about desire and how to obtain it. Psalm 37:4 “Delight yourself in the LORD and he will give you the desires of your heart.”

If we follow the text correctly, if we delight our-self in the Lord, then He will grant you the desires of your heart. The word also says that the carnal mind is hostile towards God. If our hearts are filled with sin and evil why should God grant us the desires of our hearts if what we desire may do more harm than good?

But if we Delight ourselves in God, then perhaps His goodness and mercy will change us and our desires will become His desires and by granting us the desires of our hearts, He is really granting His own desire and fulfilling His will. Hmmm.

Well in this season may God bless you and may you delight yourselves in Him as He grants you the desires of your heart.
